Mayday Comics is a yearlong cartoon experiment consisting of at least one original cartoon every day from May 1, 2007 to May 1, 2008. The BIG IDEA behind this project – the goal – is as follows: I’d like to be tighten up my approach to jokemaking and explore the possibilities of making funny drawings for a living sometime in the future. Trial by fire, bitches. Trial by fire.
It has been a long time since I’ve drawn, let alone for the “internet”, so if you’re tuning in early on, some of the jokes and drawings are going to be a little rough. Please – please, please – don’t give up on me; if you do, you’ll miss out on the really clever strip I’m planning for October 11th and kick yourself in the face on October 12th when it gets emailed to you by like a thousand of your friends.
In the meanwhile, feel free to make critical comments either on this site or via email (maydaycomic@gmail.com). Be brutal; while what you’ve heard whispered in the night is true – I do, in fact, have exceptionally soft and predatornaturally attentive hands – the rest of my skin is rhino thick.
Anyway, expect at least a post a day – typically in the late evening – between now and next May. For those of you looking for a rough thematic breakdown: 15 percent dick jokes, 85 percent subtle dick jokes.

This is an important sentence. While I like what you have so far, im more interested in how things will develop in the months to come.
Not long now until the 11th Oct. I can hardly wait. I’ve even taken the day off work. Oh yes.
